I attended William and Mary and Princeton University. I worked at Wellesley College, M.I.T., and Princeton before I moved to New York City where I worked for the President of the NY Public Library and for The Metropolitan Museum of Art. I concluded my career at the investment banking firm Allen & Company. I have always been drawn to the philanthropic possibilities of non-profit organizations which is why I am now active with MCHFH.

I spent the majority of my career working with Wall Street, both deciphering complex tax situations and structuring operations to greatest advantage. I was a Tax Manager at the AICPA in Washington, DC, before moving to New York where I served as National Director of Taxes at Oppenheim Appel Dixon & Co before moving to BDO Seidman as Partner-in-Charge of the Financial Services Tax Practice. I later moved to Coopers & Lybrand and then became a Managing Director at American Express Tax & Business Services. For the last decade of my career, I was a consultant, both running a financial services holding company and chairing a workers’ compensation insurance trust. I have always had a soft spot for Habitat ever since I worked for Jimmy Carter in both of his Presidential campaigns.

I am a retired Registered nurse. I started my career working as an ICU nurse at Coney Island Hospital in NYC. After several years, I transferred into the NYC Board of Education working with severely handicapped children. Subsequently, becoming the supervisor of nurses covering three boroughs. During this time, I also organized the School Nurse Chapter of the United Federation of Teachers and was elected Chapter Leader. I held this position for over 30 years. In 2012, Hurricane Sandy hit my community in Breezy Pt, NY. Over 3,000 homes were damaged or destroyed by the hurricane. Habitat for Humanity was one of the organizations that came to our aid. The assistance and commitment of the volunteers was heartwarming and uplifting. They gave us hope for rebuilding our community. Now in retirement, I have an opportunity to give back . I am looking forward to helping others with Habitat for Humanity the way they helped me and my community.

My friend Matt Baumann asked me to volunteer for Habitat as a Karaoke Jockey a few years ago, and that began my introduction to Monroe County Habitat For Humanity. I used to do Volunteer work in New Jersey, so when I moved to Saylorsburg it just made sense to find a new home for that. So glad I did. I try to help with Information Technology since my day job is writing Custom Software for Entrepreneurs, so I have a strong background in IT. It’s great to be able
to help such a great organization that means so much to so many.
